Rocked IT!

Katie's second trip to the dentist was yesterday, she rocked it . . happy to wear her giraffe sunglasses and helped Dr. Neighbors count her teeth!  We all go back in April, Sissy too!

Disney on Ice

Last Sunday, upon my return from Arizona we headed to the Richmond Coliseum to see Disney on Ice.  Sissy, who refused to take a nap, over the excitement of seeing a BIG "SHOW" made it through the first half, then had to be excused to take a nap in the car with daddy.

Being a sentimental fool, I only cried once during the show . . .when Ariel, the Little Mermaid skated out.  Katie's face was priceless, she was in complete awe of seeing her beloved princesses in real life, almost speechless.  To know how magical that was for her, priceless!  Get ready Dave, pretty sure I'll be tearing up a lot during our Disney trip in November :)

Popcorn!!!!!!

Love this one!!!!!!!!!

Back to Arizona I went . . .

But just for a quick trip!  Katie was none to happy that I was traveling to the desert without her :(.   A huge thank you to US Airways for the first class upgrade on my westbound flight.  I greatly enjoyed the larger seat, actual food and those couple glasses of wine!

A bit too much fun with my "Knight" pricing ladies!

And always a wonderful night out with my girls from Arizona State!

Start of Fall

Cooler weather, the start of a new school year, autumn foliage, pumpkin picking, apple cider, corn mazes, hayrides, football games, boots, coats and scarves! Welcome Fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We did a little pumpkin painting last night . . Dave stood by watching, slightly traumatized by the potential mess, but everything went well and only a "little" paint made it's way onto the driveway, but hey, it's washable (I think :)!

Very excited about their art project!

Caroline was happier painting the paper . .

Yeah!  That's how we do it!

Making sure she covered the entire pumpkin

What's on your forehead Katie? :)

Mommy's Dresses

During our last trip to North Carolina, grandma gave me some dresses of mine from when I was a child.  Honestly, I didn't even remember that she had them, but of course I love the opportunity to pass them down a generation.

A remake, but I had the same toy record player from Fisher Price when I was their age.

My Paternal Grandmother - Annabel Unser made the dress below for both myself and a matching one for my cousin Christine.  Katie also has a stuffed cow that she made me as a child; wonderful to know my children have bits of my grandmothers with them.  They were such wonderful people, I miss them and know my girls would be loved by them!

Other Northern VA Happenings!

While in DC, we made the best use of our time staying with Auntie Bethany so that we could play with Claire and Emmy!  Katie had a good time with the girls and enjoyed playing DocMcStuffins with Claire, Katie was the doctor and Claire was the patient - VERY sick with a tummy ache :)

Hugging goodbye, even with Claire rooting for the Razorbacks . . keeping it in the SEC at least!

Although tired, Katie enjoyed the Bridal Shower and playing with her cousin Gabby.  At bed time consistently since, we're heard Simba being thrown nightly Bridal Showers and Weddings, his fiance?  Giraffe :)

Hugs from Nana!
