Party Prep Wonderland!

I started ordering decorations and planning Caroline's birthday party while I was still on maternity leave, WITH HER!  Crazy?  Absolutely!  But it's also because I love crafting parties and what better people for me to shower this ability on then my girls!  Even though they're little and won't remember these early days, I would like for them to look back at these pictures and think, "Wow!  Mom really went to a lot of work to create this amazing day for me."  I love you girls and I hope that your lives are filled with special days that aren't confined to just your birthdays!

In my humble opinion, the cutest "smash" cake ever!

A special thanks to my Mother, Father, Nana, Pop Pop and David for helping me get everything ready the day of - they were simply amazing and their help was endless!

I loved how the cookies turned out!

Taylors Hope 5K

Back in August a neighbor asked if I wanted to participate in a 5K, the run was held the same day as Caroline's 1st Birthday Party.  Dave said as I could "mentally" handle it that he and the girls would be there to cheer me on.  So for the last couple months I've be practicing (or training) to run 3.3 miles . . .for those that know me, running any distance is a stretch.

I'm happy report that not only did I like the event (despite the hills) but I finished in 34 minutes, running the entire thing, I'm quite proud!

First there was a kids run - Katie, Addison and Brody waiting to start.

A quick time out to examine the triangle.

Ready . . . .set . . . GO!

My turn

The two times I ran by the girls, they were smiling with Katie screaming "go mommy!"

ALL DONE!

Clothes, Clothes and MORE Clothes

Katie and Caroline, I want you girls to know that even from the beginning you had a crazy amount of clothes, what is in the picture below could probably dress a small commune.  Never think that you didn't have enough, you're definitely blessed in the material goods department . . .and in the LOVE department too :)

Naptime Shenanigans

Sometimes, when you're suppose to be napping . . you're pulling everything from your top drawer into your bed (night gowns, diapers, lotion, etc).  You then fall asleep with your bed full of your "stuff."

There was also a bit of dressing ones self :)

Not to be outdone, I left Katie's art project on the nightstand next to Caroline's crib . .she made quick work of that!

** After reading this post, Great-Grandma Nadine emailed me these comments, which I thought were great and had to share!  "When I was about 3 they put me in for a nap and was still in a crib.  I was not sleepy, so I peeled the wallpaper off on side of the wall.  Not matter, it was an old house".

Visiting the "Big Trucks"

Since David had to work this past Saturday I thought it would be nice if we paid him a visit and Katie could see "the big trucks."  She's always talking about, "Daddy work with the big trucks?  Daddy with the big trucks?"

Dispatcher Katie - Those drivers better watch out!

"Hello?" - into the mouse . .

Terminal Manager Caroline - going through the daily miles.

Oh no!  We're going to service fail this HOT load . . .Sissy to the rescue.

Mommy's Birthday!

I woke up yesterday morning, went and got Katie who promptly starting singing Happy Birthday to Mommy, definitely got my 37th birthday off to a fabulous start!  The girls and I spent the afternoon at Monkey Joe's where they both climbed, bounced and were again delighted by the inflatable place.  That evening was for cake and presents.  Tonight Dave and I are off to dinner and to see the Broadway Show Wicked.  So I've had a pretty great birthday - Thanks everyone!

Candles for both Katie and I

Mommy and Daddy off to see Wicked (LOVED IT).

This is what happens . . .

. . . when David throws a piece of food to Raleigh, puppy misses and it goes under the couch.  Raleigh was then trying to contort his entire body to fit under the two inch gap between the couch and floor.  Luckily David was there to help, but ever the watchful dog Raleigh needed to be right there supervising the extraction!
