Chesterfield Berry Farm - Strawberry Season

Off we went this afternoon to the Chesterfield Berry Farm, with the girls in tow!  Katie was a great picker as well as taste-tester . . Sissy was primarily s taste tester!  More, more, more . .that's all that passed from our youngest lips.

Off to pick!

Nursing Home Choir Gig

Katie,

On Friday we went to a Nursing Home here in Richmond so that the Bethia Little Love Bugs could preform.  I was worried how'd you do, but you were wonderful, just fabulous.  You sang your little heart out, showed off a bit, jumped around, waved and blew kisses to me in the crowd!

Today, you had practice and it didn't go so well, you had a rough time listening . . . just an off day.  What bothers me most is that I know how amazing you are and I want people to see that . . . all the time. But no one is perfect, not me, not daddy, certainly not puppy . .so how can we expect you too? We said no stories or Mickey Mouse this evening and you went to bed without putting up a fuss.

We love you our Happy Choir Singing Girl!

Caroline Mackenzie 18 Months

What I've noticed about you lately:
  • Your vocabulary is EXPANDING!  Apple, Juice, Raleigh, Katie, Door, Outside . . you jabber, jabber, jabber our talkative little girl.
  • You like to clean up.  When picking you up at school you always put back what you're playing with before running up to us.
  • You follow directions well!  "Put your passey in the crib," "let's clean up," "sit down on the carpet."
  • You've learned to push your big-sister's buttons and it's so funny to watch.  Your newest favorite is to draw out the word "no" in the car . .it sounds like Naaaaaaaaaa and drives Katie crazy, especially when you do it every 30 seconds for about 10 minutes.
  • You are fearless in activities, but at the same time when strangers are around you cling to our legs for safety.
  • You love necklaces and could play with them for hours.
  • You're a water baby, the bath . .shower . .you could stay in there for hours!
  • Your a runner, man are you fast . .especially when we're trying to catch you.
  • Willful, you'll be a force to be reckoned with one day.
  • You're very coordinated for an 18-Month old, can climb up/down steps, throw well and keep your balance.
  • You love looking at pictures of your family and we do so every night before bed.

Happy 18 Months Sissy - We love you!

Baby Sprinkle for Baby Boy Golden

I was approached at Katie's birthday party about helping out with a Baby Sprinkle for a neighborhood friend - I was to be in charge of decor!  Of course I was SOLD, when do I not like handling party decorations?  Especially since this was going to be a small shower - a sprinkle.  We quickly decided on a date, a location (thankfully not at my home) and that we were going to go formal.  By formal I mean using my wedding china, crystal and flatware - which actually was nice since it hasn't been used in our 6.5 years of marriage!

I purchased thirty-five dollars of fabric at a craft store and made the following: A runner for each table, seven napkins, dress, a banner and bunting (large and small).  I was quite proud on how it turned out . .how I wish I could do this for a living!

Oh so pretty!

The hanging flowers turned out to be a great touch!

My baby girl!

Sissy,

You love your daddy . . .so much!  Which I'm forever grateful for as your father is an amazing man and a wonderful father.  I would be a liar if I didn't say it hurt my feelings a bit.  Not because you love your daddy more, it's just sometimes down right apparent, you can't wait to get out of my arms and into his, you push me aside to run to him . . .I feel like I wronged you in some way.

However, this week with us in North Carolina and Daddy in Pennsylvania I love the one on one time we get to spend together.  When I come down stairs from working you run towards me screaming with the biggest smile, we cuddled in bed this morning and upon closing my eyes you rested your little hand on my cheek and it was just perfect.

We don't get enough moments like this, no work, no chores, no whatever . .simply me and you.  Just know that your mommy loves spending that special time with you, there's nothing better in the world.

I love you,

Mommy

April North Carolina Visit

With North Carolina having wonderful weather and Dave being out of town, the girls and I packed up Sunday and headed to Grandma and Grandpa's for the week.  I already planed on coming one week a month for the summer, so this little impromptu trip just added to the quality amount of time we'll be spending with my mom and dad (who of course were beyond thrilled to have us).

Grandpa heated the pool so that his grand-daughters could swim their day away!
