With Katie spending the week at Grandma and Grandpas Caroline and I headed to Busch Gardens on July 28th for a “Caroline-Mommy Day!” We were actually joined by Arin, Chloe and Jace and considering we were out numbed with three kids under three, it was truly an enjoyable time!
We started off the day visiting “Elmo and Friends” a lunch buffet performance by the Seasem Street gang. Caroline was so excited to see ELMO and ABBY, but it turns out . . only from afar, close up she would scream in terror. So as long as they stayed on stage she was as happy as could be, dancing along with the songs, enjoying her Elmo cupcake.
The funniest part of the day came when I was waiting in line with Caroline and Chloe for the Air Balloon ride. Since there was nowhere for them to escape to, I zoned out for a moment, only to be brought back to hear Sissy say “Oh no! Shoe.” I prompted looked down to see Caroline only wearing one (brand new) hot pink sandal. Obviously she had left in the stroller and I hadn’t realized since I carried her into the line, so I begin to flag down Arin when I hear “Oh no! Shoe.” I look down and follow Caroline’s line of sight right between the fence and a story down in the woods. Awesome!
The rider operator couldn’t reach his supervisor, so I went a little ways up the walk, through the bushes, hopped the fence, when down the hill (Busch Gardens is not FLAT), over the rock wall, up the hill, grabbed the shoe and back I went . . .if only Arin wasn’t watching all three kids, it would have been a great video. I felt like I was in the Hunger Games and Katniss I am not . .this tribute would have been taken out the first day!
Happy with your cupcake . . . .until . ..
Elmo comes to say HI!
