Chloe Turns THREE

August 4th was Chloe’s 3rd Birthday with “It’s a Small World Theme!”  I never thought I would get my girls to leave, they loved having a big backyard with lots of outside toys to play with.

Who knew they knew how to play jump rope?

You are NOT taking this juice box from me!

Oh no . . . .SHOE!

With Katie spending the week at Grandma and Grandpas Caroline and I headed to Busch Gardens on July 28th for a “Caroline-Mommy Day!”  We were actually joined by Arin, Chloe and Jace and considering we were out numbed with three kids under three, it was truly an enjoyable time!
We started off the day visiting “Elmo and Friends” a lunch buffet performance by the Seasem Street gang.  Caroline was so excited to see ELMO and ABBY, but it turns out . . only from afar, close up she would scream in terror.  So as long as they stayed on stage she was as happy as could be, dancing along with the songs, enjoying her Elmo cupcake.
The funniest part of the day came when I was waiting in line with Caroline and Chloe for the Air Balloon ride.  Since there was nowhere for them to escape to, I zoned out for a moment, only to be brought back to hear Sissy say “Oh no!  Shoe.”  I prompted looked down to see Caroline only wearing one (brand new) hot pink sandal.  Obviously she had left in the stroller and I hadn’t realized since I carried her into the line, so I begin to flag down Arin when I hear “Oh no!  Shoe.”  I look down and follow Caroline’s line of sight right between the fence and a story down in the woods.  Awesome!
The rider operator couldn’t reach his supervisor, so I went a little ways up the walk, through the bushes, hopped the fence, when down the hill (Busch Gardens is not FLAT), over the rock wall, up the hill, grabbed the shoe and back I went . . .if only Arin wasn’t watching all three kids, it would have been a great video.  I felt like I was in the Hunger Games and Katniss I am not . .this tribute would have been taken out the first day!

Happy with your cupcake . . . .until . ..

Elmo comes to say HI!

Boston

In mid-July I traveled to New England for work and stayed the 12th to the 15th for pleasure!  Flying out to join me were Heather and Lisa, their first time to Boston.  We each picked two “must see” items and together we toured Harvard/Cambridge, Newbury Street, the Boston Red Soxs Stadium, Quincy Market and took a Haunted Ghost Tour of the Boston Commons and City Trolley Tour.  We were busy bees and was so glad they traveling far to make this girls trip a reality.

For you Grandpa Palmer!

Summer Play Date

Keeping with the more, is more theme that I like to partake in and since the waterslide was up from the holiday, we held an afternoon play date on the 5th. It started with one family and ended up with five adults and 13 kids sliding and slipping into early evening!

July 4th!

Girls, Just so you understand how events happen at our house:
** A couple weeks out
Daddy:  We should do something for the 4th, have the Lakes over and grill out?
Mommy:  Okay, that sounds fun, I’ll ask them!
** July 2nd
Mommy:  Make sure you cut the grass before you put up the waterslide.
Daddy:  When are we putting up the waterside?
Mommy:  For the 4th
Daddy:  Oh, I thought we all could do the pool, then just come back here and grill.
Mommy:  I think that’s too hard with all of us, so I told everyone that we’d have up the waterside and just stay put.
Daddy:  Everyone?
Mommy:  Yeah, the Lakes, The Goldens and the Sheltons . .the Smets probably won’t be able to make it.
Daddy:  I thought we were going to keep it small!
Mommy:  That’s only three families, how much smaller can you get?
Thanks to Daddy for always putting up with me and the trouble it takes to have these shindigs at our home!  Another perfect holiday and memories made - a great group of people and a surprising good firework display put on by two neighborhood cul-de-sacs.

Choooo Chooooooo

Happy Fourth of July from the Farmer Family!!!!

Just D A N C E!

On Monday, July 2nd Katie started a seven week Summer Pre-Ballet program at Jessica Morgan with four neighborhood and one school friend.  Dressed in her leotard, tights and white ballet shoes our eldest couldn’t have been more excited.  There was no looking back for mama, once the classroom door opened, off she went . . running . .ready to start.  Sadly Sissy was ready to go too, jumping right in line following her big sister, she was none too pleased when I had to pull her back.
We had parent night during the final class, Katie . . .you are your mother’s daughter, lots of opinions and “helping” the teacher, thrilled to be there and continuously breaking out of line so that you could give your parents “big hugs.”  You knew the songs, the movements and ultimately we decided to enroll you into their program this coming year.  Dance will start in September and will end in May with a recital performance.   Our first weekly, kid activity commitment . . .one more step to your growing up and a reminder that while we think we’re “busy” now it’ll be nothing compared to what the next five to ten years will bring.  But until then, we’ll take it one activity at a time and enjoy the journey!

Happy Father's Day

Daddy, Why we love you:
  • You let us drag out each and every toy we own, you love to see us surrounded and happily playing with our toys!
  • You love your shows, just as much as we love ours!
  • You're easy going most of the time, but you're not when it comes to our protection and being sick . . no one is more concerned then you.
  • You read funny stories with our bucks and tuck us in bed!
  • You make bath time and our showers FUN!
  • You always make time for us and make an effort to come to our "school" events.
  • You put family first!
Thank you for being you, we're so thankful you're our daddy!  In the words of Katie when I asked her what's you favorite thing about daddy?  "He's nice to me" she said . . .SO FITTING :)
